The Artist

Anne Varick (Lauder) is a sculptor, painter and draughtsman who now creates exclusively in digital. Her approach to form comes from her background in sculpture: she digitally carves (takes away), then models (adds to), using Photoshop. She starts with a pen sketch, pastel drawing or photograph and takes the relatively simple forms to new heights. The result often hovers on the boundary between representational and total abstraction with touches of surrealism.
