With “Form and Color,” Anne Varick reveals her digital age in La Jolla

The artist's new exhibit at Tim Bessell's gallery, on view through July l, features 35 of her works created exclusively in digital media.
Highlighting a different sort of toolbox as her palette, Anne Varick will open the exhibit "Synthesizing Form and Color: New Work by Anne Varick" at renowned surfboard shaper Tim Bessell's Westbourne Street gallery Monday, May 26.
The exhibition is co-curated by Bessell and Varick's daughter, art historian Anne V Lauder and will run through Tuesday, July l.

Art Exhibition: Celebrated Surfboard Shaper Teams Up With Local Artist for Special Collaboration
Though Tim Bessell is well known for his exquisitely crafted surfboards adorned with colorful motifs by Andy Warhol and Chris Levine, from May 26th through July 1st his gallery on Westbourne Street in La Jolla will host a special exhibition of vibrant and alluring digital works by Anne Varick, a traditional painter and sculptor who, in her 80s, taught herself Photoshop.
